The Mazzeo family retired to WV in 2005, establishing Bear Orchard Farms. Daily activities include beekeeping, a commercial lavender operation, and selling apple-wood smoked ham and bacon from naturally raised pure-bred Berkshire pigs.
In addition, Maurine Mazzeo contributes hand-crafted items including quilts to the mix.
They are also members of the Romney Farmers Market. Call ahead during the year.
Directions: From Rt. 50, 3 miles east of Romney, turn onto Jersey Mountain Road, between the Liberty and Exxon stations. Go approximately 9 miles through Three Churches, WV. Turn left at Our Lane. Drive to the top of the ridge, where Our Lane curves to the right. We are the first house on the right, a brown cedar rambler style house. |
